A speaker I listened to recently shared a comment that when you are Personally Happy – You are Professionally Happy. I tend to agree if you are happy with who you are, what you are achieving, how you are living your life and why you do what you do, then it naturally flows over into your professional life.
However, what I have noticed is that you can be achieving great results at work but your personal life is ordinary. You are almost living in quiet desperation, these two lives. This act alone can be energy sapping having to wear the professional mask over your personal despair.
So if you are personally happy there is a higher degree that you will be professionally happy as well, but not guarantee that if you are professionally happy that you will be personally happy. OK, then what is the solution? Sort out your personal life, make it great … whatever that means to you.
