All too often we focus on the long term goal and when our achievement is below our expectation, we can become disappointed in our progress. So my suggestion is simple …

Clarify your long term goal.

Then decide what is the next milestone you need to achieve. Make it a small and achievable goal.

Then just focus on what is next to do to achieve your goal.

All you need to do is achieve the next stage. So what do you want to achieve in the next 12 months? Write that down.

What do you need to achieve in the next 30 days to achieve that goal? Now think about the milestone you need to reach in the next 7 days? You are almost there, now what do you need to achieve in the next 24 hours? Finally, what is 1 piece of progress you can make in the next 60 minutes?
